Jam Session

Generate a lot of ideas or solutions.

Jam Session helps you generate a lot of ideas by building on each other’s ideas. A person will first share an idea and through sharing and listening, that’ll inspire others to generate new ideas.

step 1

Announce the challenge

Read aloud the challenge statement you and the team are solving. The How Might We question from the How Might We activity is a good starting point.

Tip

Write the statement down, post it somewhere visible, and make sure everyone in the group understands it.

step 2

Announce the requirements and constraints

Share the criteria that will need to considered when generating ideas. Write these down or post them somewhere visible. Reference from the MoSCoW activity.

step 3

Share your ideas

As each person has an idea, write it on a sticky note, and describe it to the group. Place the sticky note on the wall or whiteboard.

step 4

Keep making ideas

Repeat step 3 to make as many ideas as possible, within the time limit.
